Just Add Sun

It's no secret that the Mowry's are ready for warmer days. The clouds and rain yesterday and today are such a bummer around here.
Our trip to the outlets this weekend was so refreshing. We had a great time wandering from store to store and shopping for us (and throwing some things here and there for the kids). We stocked up on some much needed summer clothing, ate late, slept in and really enjoyed one another's company. Of course, everywhere we went we were reminded of the kids and we were glad to get home to them. Glad for about 10 minutes before Cooper began his 6 hour crying spree. We still have not figured out if he was just extra tired from a couple days with Mimi and Pappy, if he was upset because his routine was disrupted, in pain because of his ears or hurting because he closed his hand in the door at Mimi's. Perhaps it could have been all of the above. But one thing was for sure, he was not our Cooper last night. It took hours and a ride in the car until we were finally able to get him down for the night. He fought a good fight, that's for sure. Luckily he only got up once during the night and that didn't last for long. We weren't sure what to expect this morning but were pleasantly surprised when we were greeted with a "HI" and a huge smile.

(Please excuse the mouthful of oreo's)

This afternoon Earl and McKenna went to the movies to see Monsters Vs. Aliens. They both reported that it was very funny and that they had a great time and great popcorn. Then they headed to Wal-Mart because McKenna insisted that she needed a new pair of sunglasses (which she had been saving her money for) another sign that we're ready for some warm rays of sunshine. I spent the afternoon cleaning out my closet. Getting rid of old stuff and making room for new. I didn't think I had much to "clean out" considering we just moved 4 1/2 months ago, but I must not have done a very good job the first time around. There's nothing better than an organized closet! It's a sickness, I know.

The kids and I spent the remainder of the afternoon playing in the firetruck tent, reading books and doing puzzles. Dinner is done, thankfully, and soon we're on to baths and bed.

Earl and I are not necessarily looking forward to the week as he is going back to evenings, two nights of overtime and 24 hour call this weekend. Ugh!! It stinks on so many levels. I hate when I don't see him all week, which is funny considering that was our life for the two years he was in school. I guess I'm just used to having him around in the evenings even if he's sometimes at work until 7pm. Oh well. We're just blessed to have good jobs.

I am really hoping to NOT have anything for Not Me Monday tomorrow, but who knows what could happen between now and then. Please keep praying for Baby Stellan as he is continuing to decline. Take care and have an awesome week.
