Serving Together

"Feed the hungry and help those in trouble.  Then your light will shine out from the darkness, and the darkness around you will be as bright as the noon."  Isaiah 58:10
What better time than right after Thanksgiving to spend time serving those who are less fortunate.  The kids and I had the opportunity to serve at a local homeless shelter with the church youth group.
This was the first time McKenna and Cooper have participated in this type of service project.
They were so very excited and I was really impressed with them.  They got down to work on the job they assigned were asked to do.  McKenna was on the cookie team with Mary and Cooper and I headed up the salad team.  We also shared spaghetti and garlic bread with the residents.
The evening was not only a wonderful time of fellowship and service but an important learning opportunity for all involved.
