We decided to usher in December in grand fashion this year. Saturday we headed to Hershey for the day to spend time with two of our favorite families.
We arrived around 10am to meet Tait, Amy and the kids for some fun. We had only just pulled in the parking lot of their local Farmer's Market when McKenna and Cooper exclaimed that they didn't bring their coats. I struggled to maintain my sanity as we scrambled to figure out how we were going to manage the outside activities we had planned without coats! We soon had a plan in place and were able to enjoy the rest of our morning.
After leaving the Farmer's Market we traveled a short distance to one of our favorite places - Kidmazium. The Lehman kids and our kids ran and played and had tons of fun for an hour and a half. The parents enjoyed some time to talk and relax (gasp)!
After a morning of playing we were all hungry. The Lehman's took us to one of their favorite restaurants. Earl and I have known Tait and Amy since college and it always makes us laugh when we walk into a restaurant and ask for a table for 10. Amy sent me a text with this picture of the kids and a caption that read, "I still can't believe they all belong to us." I have to agree!
The kids were so well behaved during lunch that we decided to take a trip to the local historical museum where they were having a model train display. We thought we might get a half hour out of this attraction. We basically had to drag the kids out after nearly 2 hours. Cooper absolutely loved the train display. McKenna was more interested in the colonial dress up room where the kids played "pilgrims" for nearly an hour.
We soon had to bid farewell to the Lehman's and head to Hershey Park to meet the Dugan's. We had been planning a trip to see Candy Lane with them for months.
We all bundled up and headed into the park for some rides and hot chocolate and of course lights!
It's funny to see pictures of the kids on the merry go round in winter gear.
This cute little girl was a dream all day. We seem to drag her around regularly and she seems to take it all in stride. She didn't mind being bundled up or confined to the stroller or waiting in line. But you can see she was more than happy to do a little running around while we grabbed a quick bite to eat.
This would have been such a great picture if the men in my life would just cooperate. Honestly, must they be silly in every.single.picture? I would have sent this one to the picture trash bin had it not been the only picture of the five of us from our fun day in Hershey. So there it is, goofy faces and all.
Thanks to our friends for the "sweet" time we had this weekend. It was a great way to begin our holiday season.
