Yesterday I loaded up the picnic basket and headed to the elementary school for the annual Book Picnic. The Book Picnic is a chance for the kids to read their kid writing books to their family and friends. I don't specifically remember what I did in first grade but I'm fairly certain it didn't include animal book reports and writing/publishing my own book.
McKenna did her animal report on lions. I learned a lot I didn't know about them.
After we finished reading the books and poems we had lunch together and enjoyed the company of some of her friends.
Tomorrow is field day. We are praying that any thunderstorms hold off until after 3pm. We are also praying that it's not HOT! It's not a lot to ask is it?
