So How Are You, Really?

I get asked that question a lot...."So, how are you, really?" That's a loaded question don't you think? Just kidding. I feel like I get asked a lot of questions lately from various different people. Some who I used to work with and now only see once in awhile. Some from people who I spend lots of time with. Some from people I haven't seen in ages. Some questions come by way of text, some in the form of facebook messages, some from phone calls.

So, the answers are as follows:
How am I doing physically? I feel great. Most days. I get tired easily some days and I still am in bed at 8pm (yes, you read that correctly) most every night. But I have more good days than bad days. I am able to work 4 hour shifts at the hospital, help out at McKenna's school, attend her end of year events, spend time playing with Cooper, COOK! (that's a big one!), and still have enough energy for a conversation with Earl at the end of the day.

How am I doing in my new job as a stay at home mom? Well, I guess you would have to ask my husband and kids that one. McKenna is happy that she doesn't have to go to the baby sitter anymore. If I go into work it is on a day that Earl is home or my mom can take her to school. Needless to say, our mornings have improved 99.9%. She also enjoys the fact that I can come to school to help in her classroom and attend the special events. I love that too! Earl says that I am much nicer. Duh!!! I feel much nicer. I am so happy to not have the stress of my job follow me even on my days off. I am happy to go to work for 4 hours at a time and spend my time taking care of kids and not sitting in a conference room, etc. There haven't really been any surprises about being at home except for the fact that the days FLY by! I can only imagine that this will continue to be true when the new baby arrives.

When are you due? This is my favorite question! Sometimes! If you've seen me lately you know that I look more like I'm going to deliver next week than in 3 months. So, because technically I haven't been given an official "due date" I simply say August. Most people are kind enough NOT to ask if that is the beginning of August or end! Ha! Really we are just hoping that this baby hangs out until at least August. You might remember that Cooper made his appearance into this world 4 weeks early. We are hoping for obvious reasons to avoid that this time around - not to mention we have a trip to the beach planned! And as much as we love the beach we would prefer to arrive and leave as a family of four!

So, that's how we are! We are great! We are staying busy continuing to get the basement finished, shopping for baby stuff, tending our garden, playing outside, planning a camping trip, a birthday party - whew! The list goes on and on!

I know that someday I will look back at this time in our lives and think how easy it was. I know it's only going to get more hectic but I know our lives will only continue to be more full of fun and love.
