Just 6 months ago I was standing in church, silently praying that God would bless our family with another baby. With a trip planned to China in May, I knew that December was our last chance at becoming parents again for at least a year. My heart was conflicted as I knew that no matter what I would be choosing between two passions - my desire to grow my family and my desire to care for children in need. That night I had felt that God was asking me to step out in my faith, go to China and tell my story. His story.
Most of you know by now that God answered our prayers for another baby just a few days later. We are more than excited to welcome a new little bundle of joy into our lives this summer.
What some of you may not know is that tomorrow my friends are leaving for China on the trip that I was supposed to be on. There is a huge part of my heart that is so sad that I will not be with them but I am so excited to hear about their latest experience.
Because I cannot "be" with them physically on this trip, I have committed to praying for them daily and I'm asking you to consider this also. They have provided me with a schedule and will be sending me daily prayer requests from China when and if needed. They are so appreciative of any prayers that we can send their way.
I will try to post updates as I receive them from the group. However, for today, if you would just pray for their safe travel. The group of 26 doctors and nurses will be leaving Danville early tomorrow morning. They will fly to Beijing and then take a short flight to the small (7 million people) town where they will be staying for the next week. Please pray for their safe flight, for their health and for an easy trip through customs. They are each responsible for taking their own clothes, etc. plus a large suitcase full of medical supplies. That means over 50 suitcases to get through customs at the airport after flying for 16+ hours.
Thank you in advance for your prayers. I have included a short video of some of the kids from the orphanage.
