Between a Rock and a Hard Place

We've talked a lot this summer in our family about hard work and determination.   Saturday we got a really great chance to put it into action. 

Jimmy and Ben are avid climbers and had their birthday party at the rock gym.  Cooper usually doesn't hesitate to try new things but this was something totally foreign to him. He didn't voice any concerns but he did wonder out loud if he would be able to do it.  

About three minutes later he was at the top of the first wall. 

And soon after that I walked around the corner to find him at the top of THIS wall.  I don't know if my heart soared first with panic or with pride!  

McKenna was not sure about this climbing business and the day before the party told our neighbor that she didn't think she would climb at the party.  I suggested she at least TRY it. 

And....here she is on the big wall. She was amazing.  She conquered that wall and so many fears.   I pray that she learned a huge lesson yesterday.  She is amazing and will accomplish great things. 

We definitely don't want to forget about Kinley who is just a tad too small to climb yet!  How is she possibly old enough to be the one holding the bottle for Blake?!  She was so very proud.  I guess that feeling was going around this weekend!
